The deposit of albite – aplite granite, which serves as a feldspar raw material, was discovered in Krásno in the 1960s at geological mapping of the region. From the historic point of view there is the youngest discovered and minded raw material in the region. As to volume of the reserves, perspective of treatment and utilize in industry, it is undoubtedly the raw material of the future. This deposit was opened for mining with the quarry minded by Rudné mines in Příbram, plant Stannum, Horní Slavkov, from 1967 to 1992. In frame of attenuation of mining of ore mining and privatisation, this lossmaker had been offered for sale. New, independent company have taken possession of the imaginary baton at this locality.
The company KMK GRANIT was founded on 5 November1992. Consecutively, it obtained a mining area and mining rights for mining of soda – potassium to potassium – soda feldspars.
Since its origin, the company has been specialized mainly in mining and treatment of the minerals and in activities connected with mining and treatment of minerals.
During its activity of work at the deposit, the company KMK GRANIT has realised the exchange of manufacturing equipment and its modernization. At present, the main product of the company is FKS 0-5. It is a feldspar raw material intended mainly for utilize in ceramics industry, glass houses, porcelain factories, or elsewhere. The constituency of our customers has also amplified markedly and the material is also exported, nowadays especially to Poland and Germany. KMK GRANIT was transformed into joint stock company 30 of August 2006.
